Real Estate Marketplace Platform

The Challenge

Looking at the existing real estate marketplaces in Bulgaria, one thing stood out: the experience was harder than it needed to be. Just viewing a property could take three or four steps. The client — based in Bulgaria — wanted a better alternative: a marketplace with genuinely good UI/UX and features built to serve the user, not get in their way.

That raised real questions to answer before any code was written. Which features would actually bring value? What technology stack could support all of them — including AI? And how could the platform also make it effortless for agencies and large developers to upload their listings?

The Approach

I started with research — studying the existing marketplaces to see what they offered and where they fell short. Combined with interviews with potential users, that shaped a clear feature set: advanced search filters, map views, and pricing insights to help users make informed decisions, plus personalized touches like wish lists, saved searches, and AI-assisted ad creation to make managing listings easy.

For larger agencies and developers, I added a well-documented API so they could upload properties at scale. Because the platform needed to support so much — including AI integration — choosing the right technology was a deliberate step, researched carefully before the build began.

The Outcome

A real estate marketplace where everything ties back to the user. Search filters, map views, and pricing insights work together to make property discovery genuinely informed; wish lists, saved searches, and AI-assisted ad creation make listings easy to manage for buyers and sellers; and the documented API lets agencies and developers list properties at scale. The result is a platform that's simpler to use than the alternatives it was built to replace.
